“A Christmas Story” house is for sale with no listed asking price

The holiday season is finally here, which means it is the perfect time to rewatch your favorite movies. One of this season’s classics is a 1983 comedy film known as A Christmas Story. This year, fans of the movie also have a chance to buy a piece of cinematic history and become the new owners of the real-life Ralphie Parker’s house.  

The iconic property hit the sales market in Cleveland, Ohio, right in time for the release of A Christmas Story Christmas sequel, which is now streaming on HBO Max. Once the sale is completed, the future owner will acquire Ralphie’s house, the neighboring Bumpus house, the museum, the gift shop, and a two-family rental property.

According to the listing, the current owner of the A Christmas Story house, Brian Jones, bought this property on eBay in 2004. Over the next two years, Jones worked on restoring this home “to its original movie splendor”. Since 2006, the house has operated as a museum. This Cleaveland icon attracts more than 75,000 visitors annually and generates over $1 million in profits. 

The property has no official listing price, but it already drew some interest from the cast of A Christmas Story. Yano Anaya, who starred as Grover Dill in the film, and other cast members are looking to make an offer on this home, New York Post reports. In an interview with 3News, Brian Jones explained that he does not necessarily plan to sell this property to the highest bidder. The seller hopes to find someone who is the right fit for this business. 

"Looking for the right buyer," Jones said. "It's an interesting property to not only own, but also have to take care of as a piece of Americana. It's going to be an interesting journey."
