For sale: The real-life home of Spider-Man in Forest Hills, Queens

by Verus Real Estate

Since his first appearance in comic books in the early 1960s, Spider-Man has become one of the most beloved superheroes, synonymous with New York City. On one page, Spider-Man swings the streets of the Big Apple – on the next, he goes to a high school in Queens under the name of Peter Parker. While Spider-Man is a fictional character, his home address is real.

Fans of the comic book series will immediately recognize this Victorian house at 20 Ingram Street. This is where Peter Parker lives when he first appears in Amazing Fantasy, the final issue of the 1962 Amazing Adult Fantasy series. More than six decades later, the real-life home of Peter Parker is for sale, asking $2,138,000.

The world-famous brick house has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a charming front-yard filled with greenery. Built in 1915, this home looks like it came out straight from a fairy tale. The real-life Peter Parker residence brings together original vintage details and modern appliances. This house has a spacious living room, an eat-in kitchen, and a home office.

Fun fact: the family with the last name Parker purchased the house at 20 Ingram Street in 1974. One of their neighbors was a family named Osborne, almost identical to the last name of Spider-Man's long-time enemy, Norman Osborn. This comic book-famous home has hit the market for the third time. Previously, it changed owners in 2007 and 2017.

The Parker family lived in this home for over thirty years and received countless letters addressed to Spider-Man. This year, Parkers donated their collection of letters to the City Reliquary. The tiny Brooklyn museum has them on display until April 3, 2023. The letters could also be viewed online at the Dear Spider-Man website.

“A collection of mail for Peter Parker, whose letters my family has received for years at our house in Queens, N.Y. – we share an address and surname with the comic book hero,” the website reads. “Along with the junk mail and credit card come ons, we get an awful lot of earnest and beautiful correspondence from fans around the world.”
