Miranda Priestly’s NYC townhouse from “The Devil Wears Prada” lists for $27.5 million
This Upper East Side townhouse was once home to a fictional editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly in the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada. Over the years, this movie became an essential part of pop culture and earned various awards and nominations. Meryl Streep, who portrayed the ice-cold queen of the fashion world, received a Best Actress Oscar nomination and won the Golden Globe Awards.
After nearly two decades, the former home of Miranda Priestly is looking for a new owner. The impressive limestone townhouse, which encompasses 12,000 square feet, has not changed since it made a cameo in The Devil Wears Prada. The Neo-Italian Renaissance-style home appears in the movie when Miranda Priestly’s assistant Andrea, starring Anne Hathaway, has to deliver a mock-up of Runway magazine along with dry-cleaning.

Anne Hathaway’s character leaves dry-cleaning in the foyer closet and walks up the spiral staircase, which leads her to the living room where Miranda Priestly is talking to her husband. The beautiful living room has custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and two large fireplaces. The parlor floor also includes a dining room, which opens onto a terrace. Built in 1907, this UES townhouse was last renovated in 2005, a year before The Devil Wears Prada came out.
The unique New York City pad has 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and four terraces spread across six stories. Once you step inside, you will come across two kitchens, six fireplaces, a gym, a library, and a recreation room. There is also a private basketball court and Jacuzzi on the roof. The primary bedroom spans across the third floor. It comes with its own fireplace, a Juliet balcony, and a large walk-in closet.

The building at 129 East 73rd Street sits between Park and Lex in the historic Upper East Side. The future owner of this famous home will also have a chance to run into some notable neighbors, including Gloria Steinem, who lives across the street. This iconic townhouse last changed owners in 2003, when it was sold for $8.8 million. Now, fans of The Devil Wears Prada could purchase Miranda Priestly’s pad for $27.5 million.
