Riverdale: suburban life within the city
Riverdale, Bronx, was once a getaway destination for wealthy New Yorkers. They built large family estates on the shores of the Hudson River to avoid the summer heat and be closer to nature. Two centuries later, the neighborhood became a perfect place for those who want to buy a home in NYC without breaking the bank.
Recently, our clients Maria Bernshteyn and her husband bought a home in Riverdale and renovated it. The sought-after Bronx neighborhood is only 15 to 20 minutes away from the Upper West Side. Here is how beautiful your place in Riverdale could look like.

Riverdale offers a unique mix of urban and suburban life. The neighborhood has lots of coffee places, stores, and restaurants, but it also provides access to green spaces and wild nature.

Another thrill of living in Riverdale is the sense of community. Maria says that people in the neighborhood are warm and welcoming, and she hears a variety of languages spoken. “I can distinguish Russian, German, French, and Hebrew on the playground. Lots of people of European descent around, hence food and services. Diversity as it must be.”

Riverdale is a more affordable part of New York City with highly rated schools and many sports activities, including football, soccer, and baseball. The neighborhood also offers the luxury of having your own parking spot, something that is much harder to find in Manhattan.

Overall, Riverdale is a perfect place for those who want to be surrounded by nature without having to pay price premium for desired square footage or give up access to urban amenities. If you are on the market for a home in this neighborhood, we will be happy to assist you in this process.
