The Byers’ house from “Stranger Things” is under contract and will soon appear on Airbnb

by Verus Real Estate

The fifth and final season of the highly acclaimed sci-fi series Stranger Things will be released in the next few years. However, those who could wait not for the new episodes had a unique opportunity to buy a piece of the show’s history.

This 1,846-square-foot home, which made its debut as the Byers' house and quickly became one of the most recognizable filming locations, appeared on the sales market at the end of September. The single-family residence sits on 6 acres in Fayetteville, Georgia. The listing includes a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house and a small barn where Will Byers (starring Noah Schnapp) disappeared in Season One of Stranger Things.

Like in the show, this home can be best described as a fixer-upper. The property was originally listed for $300,000 and went into contract a week after it hit the market. According to Insider, a buyer offered to pay nearly twice its asking price.

Once the future owner completes the renovation, this home will make a great primary residence or a profitable short-term rental. The listing says that the "potential return on investment" could be "huge". An 80-s inspired decor and some props from the show will make this rental even more appealing to potential guests.

This house made a cameo in Season One, Two, and Three of Stranger Things. According to the show, the Byers family home was located in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder) has lived here with her two sons: Will and Jonathan (portrayed by Charlie Heaton). At the end of Season Two, Byers sold their house and moved to Lenora Hills, California.
