This 18th-century New York home is for sale with its own post office

This upstate New York cottage has many stories to tell. It was built in 1795 on the river waterfront in Greenwich, New York, just across the road from the childhood home of Susan B. Anthony, a pioneer of the women’s suffrage movement. Throughout its long history, this house made a debut in The Horse Whisperer, a movie starring Scarlett Johanson and Robert Redford, and got featured in a book, A Simpler Way of Life.

Today, more than two centuries later, the Thomas McLean house hit the sales market for $675,000. It has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and many antique details, such as the Dutch-style front door, four fireplaces with vintage mantels, wooden flooring with signs of wear, and doors with Norfolk hinges. The interior space totals almost 4,000 square feet. 

The future owner will have a rare opportunity to enjoy the walks around tall green trees and views of the Battenkill River.
